Aikido - as the Way (Do) of the Power (Ki) of Love (Ai) - reveals itself in different forms and wears different kinds of clothes in order to attract different people. No matter what reason a person finds to come to Aikido - either because of spiritual search or for realization of their ambitions – there is hope for everyone that Aiki will disclose them its true designation.

Thanks to O’Sensei, the Founder of Aikido, the Power of Love has come so close to our world that it has found its manifestation in the physical actions to impress people and give them hope. Aiki has come to raise a mere human being over their pathetic existence, and it is acting with no discrimination, which means - for everyone.

For more coarse people, Aiki wears more coarse clothes, and Aikido for those people can be seen as an effective way to realize their egocentric intentions, such as domination over other people, gaining power to make judgment, or to establish “justice”. And they are not yet aware that the true power of Aiki is only in its creational capacity, and it cannot serve destructive intentions of the human ego, even wrapped within the cover of an altruistic enthusiasm. Creational capacity is the true reality, although it is hidden within the sleepiness of our existence. Reasoning and wondering about the “reality” of Aikido techniques in our illusionary world, that buck the ego of a rough and ignorant person, is a great delusion that keeps people from seeing the real value of Aikido. But even to these people Aikido gives hope, as long as they find a way to make efforts and keep searching, while perceiving the deficiency of what they have.

In other words, there is no way for an egocentric person to use the power of Love without internal change. Aikido is “not working” for many people, because there is no room for the manifestation of the Power of Love in their lives. They have not made enough efforts yet to create this room and invite the true Aiki. My heart is grieving for that.
