Summary of the Treatise by the Head of the School, Aikido Professor Edward Suomin
Introduction
Many people are very concerned about the Aikido being applicable to the real situation of aggression as a tool of self-defense. Little do they know that Aikido is never applicable, unless you change the attitude to the practice and become ready to perceive Aikido as the tool for something different. Many common people, even those who think they practice Aikido, perfect themselves in actions, collecting different variations of Aikido techniques in their arsenal. They are wrong. It will never work because Aikido is not in actions. The real thing can be found within, in your intentions. Everything happens before the action starts.
